Orange – geoluread
The colour Orange is named after the Orange fruit, but before that, it was called geoluread (yellow-red). It is believed that Christopher Columbus was the first to bring orange seeds to America during his second voyage to the region in 1493. There are now over 600 varieties of oranges worldwide. Orange trees are a symbol of love and marriage in many cultures. Schoolgirls in some countries chant a rhyme, and throw the long orange peel over their shoulder, then look at how it falls to find the initial letter of the name of the boy that loves them.
